Delete your account
You can do this yourself, from inside the app, in four taps. Nobody has to approve it and you do not have to tell us why.
From the app
- Open Huddle and go to your profile.
- Tap Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap “Delete account”.
- Tap “Yes, delete it”. The sheet lists what goes and what stays first, and Cancel sits underneath it.
Your account is locked the moment you confirm, so you are signed out everywhere and nobody can see your profile any more. The rest happens on its own, within a few minutes.
If you can't get into the app
A lost phone or a sign-in you can no longer receive should not trap you in an account. Write to us from the email address you signed up with and ask us to delete it; we will confirm by replying to that same address and nowhere else.
Owner: fill this in before launch
- The address to write to. It needs a real inbox somebody reads — Google Play rejects a deletion page whose contact route does not work.
- How long we take. Say a number and keep it. Ghana's Data Protection Act 2012 and the GDPR both set outside limits; pick one we can actually meet.
- What we ask for. We cannot verify who you are from the address alone, so decide what counts as enough, and keep it to the least we can get away with.
What gets deleted
- Your profile
- Name, username, birthday and photo
- Your sign-in
- Your email address and the account that held it, including any passkey you set up
- Your groups
- Every group you were in, and your place in them
- Your answers
- Your vibe quiz, your votes, your saved ideas, your notification settings and your home area
- Your photos
- Deleted from storage, not just unlinked
We send one last email confirming it is done. That is the only thing we do with your address after you ask, and then we no longer have it.
What stays, and why
Plans you were part of belong to the other people in them too. Rather than delete a night out from four other people's history, we take your name off it: anything that already recorded you — a reaction, a spin result, a guest you brought — stays, and reads as “Someone”.
Nothing in it points back at you. There is no name, no username, no photo and no address left to point with.
If you were the owner of a group, it passes to whoever has been a host there longest, or to the longest-standing member if there are no hosts. A group with nobody else in it is deleted with your account.
Backups
Our backups are continuous, and they hold yesterday's database as well as today's. They catch up within 30 days, and after that nothing of yours is left in them either. We do not restore a backup to bring an account back.
Changed your mind?
There is no undo. Once you confirm, the account is locked immediately and erased within minutes, so there is no window to catch. You are welcome to sign up again with the same email address, but it will be a new account with nothing in it.
